Nordic Walking is based on the natural movement patterns of walking and so is an accessible form of exercise.

The Nordic Walking technique must be learned correctly in order to perform it safely and effectively as well as achieve maximum physical benefit.

Training

Private or group technique lessons are available for all levels of fitness.

In a lesson you will:

  • start the lesson with warm-up exercises
  • be given demonstrations that break down all the technique
  • practise all elements of the technique
  • end the session with stretches and cool down exercises

Nordic Walking Equipment

Nordic Walking poles are specific for the Nordic Walking technique – they are the only essential piece of equipment and are provided during your training sessions. Your clothing and footwear should be suitable for walking and appropriate for the weather.

Poles are provided during your training (included in the class fees). 

I was surprised how different it was using Nordic poles compared to normal walking poles and the ease with with you can achieve an effective whole body workout!
